How to Plan a Candle-Pouring Bachelorette Party

How to Plan a Candle-Pouring Bachelorette Party

Looking for a fun and creative way to celebrate the bride-to-be? A candle-pouring bachelorette party is the perfect choice! It’s a hands-on workshop where guests can mix fragrances, pour wax, and create their own custom-scented candles.

Those who want to enjoy a drink can do so, while others can focus on crafting and socializing. Everyone leaves with a personalized gift and memories of a unique celebration that the bride and her friends won’t forget.

Benefits of Booking vs. Doing It Yourself

Planning a bachelorette party should be memorable and fun, but sometimes the little details can feel overwhelming. By booking a candle-pouring event, you can skip the stress of setup and simply show up to enjoy the celebration.

Choosing a professional event instead of handling it yourself will provide benefits like:

  • Stress-free planning – When working with a company like Penn & Beech Candle Co., you simply get to show up and enjoy the party. We have various vessels available for creating your custom candles, and we’ll provide guidance, setup, and materials. Normally, if you were to oversee something like this for your group, you’d need to purchase all of these supplies yourself.
  • Expertise – Our scent specialists are here to help you find fragrances that blend perfectly together. Plus, our team supervises the process, so if you have any questions about the scents or steps involved, we’re here to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience.
  • High-quality materials – Our candles use premium fragrance oils and do not contain additional chemicals to artificially enhance their scents. Best yet, they are certified skin-safe!
  • Unique keepsakes – Many bachelorette parties provide generic favors, but what better gift than something unique for each person? Not only will your guests receive curated candles based on scents they enjoy, but they’ll also get an experience they won’t forget.

Steps for Planning a Candle-Pouring Party

1. Choosing a Date and Guest List

Just like any other bachelorette party, you first need to finalize a guest list and then choose a date that works best for the entire group. Finalizing this step early ensures that everyone can attend, especially those traveling from out of town. Depending on the size of your party and what you want to bring, you will also want to consider whether you will want to rent a table, a room, or the whole shop.

2. Booking Your Candle-Pouring Experience

After finalizing your guest list and selecting a few potential dates, the next step will involve reserving your candle-pouring experience. Booking in advance allows the entire party to simply show up and enjoy creating custom candles, without any stress or setup.

3. Picking a Theme and Décor

One fun way to make the party more memorable and personalized for the bride is by creating a theme. Decorations are welcome at Penn & Beech Candle Co., so feel free to bring the bride’s favorites.

⚠️ Important Note on Beverages
Beverages must be purchased on-site. The store offers a wide selection of beer, wine, mimosas, and non-alcoholic options, so everyone can enjoy a celebratory toast and join in on the fun.

4. Coordinate Group Details and Expectations

Once the date and theme are set, it’s important to align everyone on the details to ensure the event runs smoothly. Share the location, start time, and any rules or guidelines ahead of time so every guest will be prepared and can fully enjoy the experience.

Frequently Asked Questions About Candle-Pouring Parties

How much does this cost?

For the pour experience, pricing will depend on the size and style of vessel you choose, with options starting at $25.

If you’re interested in a private event space, the cost will be $200 per hour, with a minimum of 2 hours including all setup and tear-down time, suitable for 10–20 guests. For a full shop rental, rates vary by location: Fishers, Grandview, and Short North (Columbus) are $250 per hour, while Carmel and downtown Indianapolis are $500 per hour.

Can we bring in outside food?

In our main retail space, if you’re reserving a table, we cannot accommodate outside food or drinks, nor any other decorations, gifts, or similar items. However, if you’re renting our private event space, outside food is welcome, as well as decorations, gifts, and other personal items.

How do I book for a bachelorette party?

Complete the event request form on the private rental page and the team will follow up within ~24–48 hours to help finalize your plans.

How long does the candle-making process take?

Allow about 90–120 minutes to pour your candles, and about 2 hours for curing afterward. Many groups will grab dinner or drinks nearby and return to pick up their candles later, or arrange pickup options with the shop.

What should guests wear?

We totally understand wanting to look pretty for the bachelorette party, but since candle-making is a hands-on activity, we recommend avoiding long sleeves or fabrics that you’d worry about getting wax on.

How far in advance should we book?

Bachelorette parties book up quickly, especially on weekends. Booking several weeks in advance is recommended to secure your preferred date and time.
